Betley is a small linear village, mentioned in the Domesday Book, situated on the main route from Keele to Crewe & Nantwich. St. Margaret’s Church is situated up Church Lane just past Betley primary School. There are numerous attractive black & white buildings and most of the village has been designated as a conservation area. There is now only one Public House, The Swan which is the focal point of the centre of the village. Sports facilities include Tennis Courts, bowling green and Betley Cricket Club. Football has been played in the Betley area for the past 50 years. The recently refurbished “ Reading Room ” is an excellent example of a Community run project available to local people as a place to meet and share views on Village life in Betley.
